Romanian photographer Bogdan Gîrbovan decided to create an unusual project, involving the residents of a typical 10 stores building in the Eastern part of Bucharest. “This is an ordinary apartment building, all 1-bedroom apartments, which I removed, exactly the same as in the interior and in the exterior, but I wanted to show how differently people live in these same apartments.
I chose this house, because he lived in it for some time, and I’m not a stranger. It’s just one building of 70,000 similar, built in 1966 of the last century, and in each of these houses can trace a similar history and similar problems.”
I removed each new apartment with the same view, and did it on purpose to demonstrate the combination of social classes in different apartments of a house, only with the difference in the interior, environment, and lifestyle of the owners”.
The project, called the author of “10/1”, is really powerful.
See for yourself.
