Why not turn old books into fabulous sculptures

Su Blackwell is a talented English artist who creates amazing sculptures from… old books. She turns the flat page into a three dimensional objects and build from them the whole intricate landscapes filled with mystery. According to the author, she buys old books in second-hand stores and always reads the book before starting to create her sculpture.

Her latest series of works called “Home” (“Dwelling”) was created under the inspiration of folk tales. Here you will find huge castles and humble huts, and fairy tale tree houses, and even lighthouses. And in each one the lights light up as they become inhabited.

Old books attract many artists: for example, Cecilia levy creates from old books fine paper cups and saucers.

Look, what a beauty! So imagine the inside of these dwellings of these fabulous gnomes, fairies and elves.
